Well, not quite, but there sure are a lot of them. Israeli innovation has given us popular apps like Waze and Onavo (both of which were bought out by Google and Facebook, respectively). There are countless other Israeli start-ups that are starting to make a big splash, and what is so interesting is that they are not following the same path as Waze and Facebook and looking for a buy out. Rather, they are growing and making names for themselves in the U.S. and around the world. Wix went public a few months ago with a very successful IPO, Get Taxi (know as Gett in New York City) has been giving Uber some good competition, Interlude helped Bob Dylan create the best music video of the year, and companies like Alcohoot are just launching their products but are already getting great reviews.
Keep an eye for some awesome Israeli companies and all their amazing apps, and next time you are in Israel check out Mapped In Israel’s app to find out about more startups. Also, if you are in New York, like me, make sure to check out all the Israeli companies in the city by going to Israeli Mapped in NY
